Reading Specialist
I provide private, one-on-one reading and writing instruction and support for elementary and middle school-aged public, private, and homeschool students. The instruction and support I offer is for beginning readers or for students who are challenged by reading and need some level of intervention. I do not provide enrichment for high achieving students. Sessions take place in my home in Lafayette, California.
Please explore my web site for more information about the services I provide. Contact me for additional information and to answer your specific questions.
Throughout this site you will see pictures of the kids in my life (mostly my own) on their way to becoming readers. I’m looking forward to supporting your student on their reading journey!
Please note: On this site you'll also see references to our dog Tucker. We lost our sweet Tucker in the spring of 2025 but I have not been able to bring myself to remove mention of him from this site.
I currently have a waitlist for all incoming students. Please contact me if you would like me to add your student to my list.

As my home (where I teach) is in Lafayette, I have aligned myself with the City of Lafayette's land acknowledgment statement which reads as follows:
We acknowledge that Lafayette is part of the unceded, ancestral homeland of the Bay Miwok people. The Bay Miwok and neighboring Ohlone people have lived in and moved through this place for thousands of years. They stewarded and shaped this land for hundreds of generations. We express our appreciation and gratitude for this profound legacy, which enhances and contributes to our lives to this day. We will strive to honor this land and strengthen our ties with the Indigenous communities that continue to live and work in our East Bay region as our neighbors and community members. We acknowledge and honor them and their ancestors, elders, and next seven generations.
